THE BODY SHOP JAPANESE CAMELLIA CREAM: SPA OF THE WORLD

I know that I posted my Body Shop haul on instagram a few months back so sorry for the late review, however the item is still available for purchase online. As most of my longtime followers already know, I obsess over Japanese Camellia oil and always buy a bottle for my hair so when the Body Shop came out with their Spa of The World Collection, more particularly, the Japanese Camellia Cream I had to test it out. It's DIVINE! I promise. Stay Beautiful! XOXO

Camellia Oil has been used by Japanese women since the 8th century to soften and moisturize skin. It is pressed from the seeds of the same species whose leaves are harvested to create black, white, and green tea. The exquisite scent of this pure and elegant flower allows mind and body to reconnect with a moment of profound peace. The Japanese Camellia Cream is gently fragranced with camellia seed to leave skin velvety soft and moisturized. Use this rich body cream as part of our relaxing ritual when you’re in need of a fast-track to tranquility. Discover more about the Spa of the World™ Body Care Collection Velvety texture. Leaves the skin delicately fragranced.

Formula: Camellia cream is more of a body butter than a cream, it's super thick and rich. I feel it's better than the usual BS body butters because the consistency is really whipped and airy and because the formula is luxurious, you'll need more product to create a generous application all over the body. This has rapid absorption and does dry down so dry skin types may need an extra lathering. Let's get to the good part... The smell is HEAVENLY! The fresh camellia fragrance is a warm, floral -- slightly woodsy -- type with a hint of gardenia to it. Maybe it's just me but it smells like gardenia or Tahitian flowers are added to the scent. However, the smell starts off strong then dissipates -- which is disappointing. The tub is also generous at 12 full ounces so it will be hard to travel with but perfect to keep in your shower. My only complaint is that the formula is not as hydrating on super dry skin and that the scent disappears rather quickly. Still, it relaxes the mind and makes your skin feel soooo good when applied right out of the shower. Indulge in an at home spa experience with Japanese Camellia.
