Words cannot express how much I love this brand. My mother has been using them since she was younger while growing up in Italy. It's a German company that has been around since 1921 and is highly popular throughout Europe. I remember she would by Weleda here in the U.S. when I was little and I would go and steal some of the lotions and glob them all over my face. Lol. Good times. It seems bizarre to me that I have never reviewed this or St. Ives (among other natural brands) that I've been using forever now. It's just bizarre to me. Maybe because I'm always trying to sample innovative, designer products and forget about my time trusted beauties. In any case, today I'm reviewing Weleda Skin Food and it truly lives up to it's name. MY FAVE Weleda product is one made from flowers but since I ran out of that and it's hard to find here in the states, I'll review it as soon as I can get one of my family members to ship it to me from Europe. The brand grows their own plants and herbs to create cruelty-free, vegan, and all natural beauty/skin care products. If you find them in your local drug store, don't hesitate to buy because they will be your new staples. Stay Beautiful! XOXO

Weleda Skin Food is a unique, ultra-rich whole-body cream that deeply hydrates, restores and protects your skin. It moisturizes even the most stubbornly dry areas on your elbows, hands and feet. The essential fatty acids, vitamin E and organic sunflower seed oil target roughness and smooth skin that is thirsty for TLC.

Smooths and softens dry, rough skin with nourishing plant
oils. Contains soothing, healing pansy, chamomile
and  calendula extracts. Can be used anywhere
on the body where skin is dry or rough

Formula: This cream is ULTRA rich! And I love the tube as a dispenser because when you uncap it, it automatically starts to slowly ooze out, so you don't need to squeeze excess product from the tube. As a matter of fact, I love all products that are packaged in tubes such as this. The formula is so emollient that a slight dab of the cream can be used to smooth over large areas of skin. It goes on as a rich lotion and quickly melts into a creamy oil finish. If you apply a bare amount it will be absorbed immediately but if your heavy handed it can become quite greasy. For oilier skin types, I don't see any reason why you cannot use it for spot touch-up's (on the orbital bones, lips, hands, cheeks) if you're not comfortable with an all over face application. The scent is fresh and herbal, it's really pleasant. I even use this over my foundation around the eye area, because that's where my skin can become really dry in the winter. I just dab it on and gently tap it around the area's that need extra moisture. My skin is really dry in the winter so this is like a miracle healing balm. The best part is that he brand is cruelty-free and natural! I have more Weleda products to review so stay tuned.

Availability: Weleda, Target, Health/beauty retailers, $14-$19 2.5 oz

  1. Great review. I've actually not tried that much from Weleda for some reasons. Got a perfume from them on Acadermia a while back though. I need to try that one and see if I like it.

  2. Thanks for the heads up. I'll look out for the brand next time I'm visiting Target <3
