Hello all! I'm trying really hard to wrap up older product reviews so here is one for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette. I posted this on instagram months ago and explained how I was able to purchase this using my Sephora $50 gift card, the one they sent VIB/ROUGE members when they messed up with the EPIC REWARDS program. I believe the total price came out to thirty two dollars which is not bad for a mini-palette that's eighty dollars. WoW! I know, right? Otherwise I probably would have skipped it. You guy's know how I rave about Hourglass products, especially their primers and other ambient powders but sadly, the price point for this one is simply NO! Although, if you have extra milk money just laying around, in terms of the quality, it is absolutely worth it. Eat life saving foods or use your grocery money for this. Stay Beautiful! XOXO
A limited-edition, clutch-worthy wardrobe of handmade powders, blushes, bronzer, and strobing powder to create your perfect light on the go. Designed to give you everything you need to finish, brighten, contour, and highlight your skin. Featuring the Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powder in Iridescent Strobe Light, a sheer illuminating highlighter that’s designed to emulate the way in which strobe lights capture and reflect light on the face—plus, it can be used dry or wet for a more intense highlight. All products in the palette are universally flattering and deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skintone, making it appear softer and lit-from-within.
Unlike traditional powder, blush, and bronzer, which tend to go on flat, all Ambient®Lighting products use Photoluminescent Technology to filter out harsh light and refine the look of the complexion. Its beautifully designed, custom compact has a large mirror, and it’s perfectly sized so your Ambient Lighting wardrobe is always within reach. Handmade in Italy, the Ambient Lighting Edit features the Ambient Lighting Blush and Bronzer are blended by hand using an advanced miscelare technique (meaning “to mix” in Italian), creating the perfect balance of pigments in a gorgeous, unique pattern meaning that no two powders look alike.
The size of the palette when compared to Hourglass single compact and single blush
Formula: Let me start with the palette size, which is slightly larger than the single size powder compact. Yes, it's that small! The powders are super lightweight and pigmented but on the semi-sheer side, however, they're buildable. I was greatly surprised that all the colors work on pale and yellow toned skin as well as skin of ethnicity. I usually stay away from dark blush and bronzers because they make my skin look bruised but the colors here, even the darkest bronzer are very subtle! As a matter of fact, next to the lemony highlighter, the cocoa bronzer is my second favorite shade. I also love that they have a creamy consistency and sheen but no glitter bits or tacky sparkles. Quite sophisticated and glamorous. The pale illuminating highlighter is the new and exclusive shade that you will only find here. It's like the ethereal glow color but with more shimmer and brilliance. The powders don't settle into fine lines nor do they make skin appear caked, and it wears well all day keeping make-up fresh. The gorgeous, sleek gold compact has a mirror but the metallic surface does pick up a lot of fingerprints. The quality is superb, it works on many skin-tones so you'll have to decide if it's worth the splurge. I'm hoping they can create a future palette that is slightly more affordable for all because I honestly believe women should be able to own luxurious items.
