When I first received several deluxe samples of Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer from Sephora, it really impressed me. I have never been a fan of using a bases under foundation but the product changed my opinion. In a past review I initially typed up a quick, first impression but now after buying the exclusive jumbo size, I'm ready to do a full review. I was able to buy the large tube through Sephora's VIB Rouge gift card. Are you a primer skeptic? Try Hourglass and let it change your mind. Stay Beautiful! XOXO

A mineral-based, water-resistant primer with SPF 15 that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application. This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften skin imperfections and fine lines. Veil Mineral Primer is formulated with naturally derived titanium dioxide and zinc oxide instead of chemical sun-blocking agents. This water-resistant primer is also 100 percent free of fragrance, oil, and gluten.

 jumbo two ounce tube

Formula: Since it contains SPF15, it has a slight milky coloring when applied on the skin that dissipates when blended. The super lightweight, fluid lotion requires a few small dots on the face. It smooths on easily and absorbs rapidly. It feels barely naked and allows your skin to breathe. The finish is matte. In my experience with this, it's perfect for oily skin types but works on dry skin too. My skin is more on the normal/dry side and it doesn't settle anywhere. I found it's also a good way to set your more liquid or oily type foundations. I have some super foundation that is a perfect skin-tone match but rather "wet" and dewy. This primer helps dry it down and last longer. The results are a perfect, flawless finish with all day wear. I never have to touch up or worry that my make-up is melting off. The best qualities are that it's cruelty free with no parabens, no sulfates and contains sun protection. While it keeps oil at bay, it's not completely matte, meaning it casts a soft glow. This is a must have product to use year round but will serve you well on humid summer days. While it's quite pricey for the two ounce size, it's worth it! The product will last for a long time and after using it you'll never want to give it up. They offer a sample deluxe size to try it before committing to the full size bottle and tube.

  1. Mineral veil is the only primer I use. It soaks up excess oil.
