Another late post. Unfortunately these sold out quickly. As a matter of fact, even before my blog break so an early review would not have helped. I did post the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Marsala Lip Layering Pencils on my instagram account before they were being sold at Sephora and right after my purchase, so hopefully you were able to pick a set up. Have you tried them? Stay Beautiful! XOXO
A set of natural, ombre nude pencils for sheer coverage and finish. These chubby cream lip pencils soften, plump, and create dimension in the lips while adding shine and retaining a natural nude look. All shades complement Marsala, the Sephora+Pantone Color of the Year for 2015. The creamy, hydrating formula contains hyaluronic filling spheres for plumping, as well as resveratrol, an antioxidant derived from red wine grapes. These actives provide hydration and long-term antiaging benefits.
Designed to evoke the sleek, modern lines of the iconic Pantone Chip, and newly imagined with a captivating Marsala ombre color variation, 2015’s Color of the Year Collection makes a stunning presentation. Each product features Sephora Collection’s high performance formulas for rich color payoff and luxurious feel during wear. Refined finishes like matte, cream, metallic, and lacquer allow for a fuller expression of this bold nude shade, from sheer luminosity to wildly rich pigments.
Formula:The fat, push up applicator lip pencils are creamy, pigmented and wear well for hours. Even without balm underneath my lips felt comfortable. They are rather small in size -- four inches -- and great for storing in your purse. The nude colors are all beautiful and worked well with my fair skin except for maybe that mod type looking peach shade -- Rose Dawn-- which is probably more suitable for spring time wear and a nice tan. The reason you see only four swatches instead of five is because they somehow placed two lipstick of the same shade in the set. I'm not upset because the muted clay happen to be my favorite pick. Overall the quality is decent and the packaging is gorgeous. Maybe they'll make full size versions in the future.
