Here's the last of my Paul + Joe foundation collection reviews. This one is for the Paul + Joe Moisturizing Compact Foundation Shade-Alabaster 00. It's the same exact alabaster color as in the fluid foundations without the extra liquid saturation. This version has a slightly better hold and the beautiful etched pale shell pink compact is delightful. As with the previous fluid foundations I reviewed --the compact in this particular style is also hard to find-- although they now include the newest additions. I haven't tried any of the newer shades yet because I'm completely fixated on the alabaster as being my perfect shade.
Formula: A creamy foundation that glides on effortlessly and has buildable coverage. It leaves a semi-glowing finish on the skin making it perfect for dry skin types. It's slightly more matte than the fluid version but still very moisturizing. I find it has decent wear time which is heightened by the use of primer and setting powder. If your skin is really oily I suggest skipping this particular formula. Shade alabaster contains no beige or dirty yellow pigments and it's perfect for pale/light skin tones. What I didn't really like was the sponge applicator --but then again no compact ever has a good one. I used my own Beauty Blender sponge for a more accurate application. The compact is really gorgeous! The top cover has an etched laced design in a pale pink color, a nice quality mirror inside -- with the body constructed of a hard resin type plastic-- and a small sponge. I really hope they still continue making this exact shade because it's literally the color of my flesh. They also need to make this more accessible for us vampiric-toned girls here in the states. Has anyone ever tried this foundation? Stay Beautiful! XOXO
