Sorry for this late post but in my defense I already reviewed it when it initially hit the market. The difference being that those were six deluxe size mini bottles with droppers sent to me as part of Sephora VIB promotions. In any case the jumbo size wasn't available yet during that time. It's the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil in the Limited Edition Super Size collectors bottle. I was able to purchase this with a gift card when Sephora placed it on sale from the original $75 down to $40. That price makes it a fabulous steal since you receive about three bottles of the normal size for the price of one! And the bottle is gorgeous! The regular size bottle is still available at Tarte and Sephora.
This undiluted organic and moisturizing maracuja oil quickly absorbs for firmer, brighter, smoother skin. Pure maracuja oil is rich in vitamin C, so skin appears instantly brighter and more radiant, as well as essential fatty acids (EFAs), a requirement for healthy skin cells that the body cannot produce on its own. EFA deficiency can result in the breakdown of essential skin cells which causes skin to appear dry and aged. By supplementing skin with pure maracuja oil, you are infusing life back into dull skin and replenishing EFAs to rapidly rebuild and repair. This potent anti aging elixir that has anti-inflammatory benefits promotes active skin recovery and delivers maximum hydration without any greasy or filmy feel. $46 1.7 0unce
Formula: Maracuja oil has one distinct difference from all the other oil serums I've tested. It has a clear white baby oil type of consistency. Strange for an oil product that typically has a slight golden sheen. The oil does get absorbed into your skin quickly if you use a larger amount and work it in properly. Another difference with this particular oil is that you need more product on application than other oil products I have used. It seems to blend less smoothly than the other oils. Not that it's thick, it's hard to describe it exactly. It just absorbs into a small area quickly and then you need more for the rest of your face. While it does soften my skin and feels nice, after a couple of weeks use there really isn't an amazing difference. This does promise a lot on the Sephora site but for me no dramatic results were seen. However I do have to note it works great under your foundation because of it's fast acting absorption and doesn't mess up your make-up. The scent is light and subtly nutty like Argan oil but less noticeable. Packaging: This limited edition bottle is housed in the same purple glass bottle as the original one but it's a whopping 3.4 fluid ounces! That's about three bottles in one! It also has the same pen-like push top dispenser with a dropper and it's about four inches in height. The fun part is the bottle cap constructed of fat chunky wood stamped with a colorful Southwestern inspired print. It's absolutely stunning in person. Finally it's hidden inside a thick, sturdy cardboard box with the same print. I saved the box to store my oil inside because the darker the environment, the longer lasting the oil's quality remains viable. And when the product has been emptied out you can reuse it over and over again. It's definitely one of my smarter beauty buys this year. Have you tried this yet? Stay Beautiful! XOXO
