Up for review today is Benefit Cosmetics Bathina Silky & Seductive Body Oil Mist. It's one of those wish list beauty items that I have wanted for the longest time now but unfortunately it failed to deliver. If only the the rep on the site where I purchased Bathina from was more accurate in describing the scent in her video, then I wouldn't have bothered purchasing the oil at all. She described it as a lush creamy gardenia when its actually a light floral rose. No creamy, no gardenia. You would think a seasoned beauty professional would know the scent difference between the two flowers. Surprisingly I decided to keep the bottle since it was twenty dollars less than the original price with a birthday offer and body oil is always nice to apply on your skin right after the shower. Another product to add to my wish I didn't buy list.
Give your skin a seductive sheen and a hint of tempting fragrance that’s impossible to resist. This super-fine oil mist absorbs instantly for immediate hydration. It includes sweet almond, olive, and avocado oils to leave skin feeling soft and moisturized. It also includes vitamin E, which is known to keep skin firm.
Formula: Bathina is a lightly floral scented dry body oil with a prevalent rose nose. It's not a nauseating floral but I find it too crisp for my preference. The scent does not linger long evaporating after half an hour even though it's an oil product and should have more staying power. As a dry oil it absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves no greasy residue behind but your skin is left with a matte feeling making it not as moisturizing as I would have liked. It's also a very small glass bottle that feels less than full when you shake it and the spray cap is non-removable. This is frustrating because the bottle is gorgeously crafted of a heavy glass material with a beautiful vintage pin up girl print. You'll just have to chuck it when it's emptied and it will run out soon enough. I'm going to try to play around with the cap and loosen it in the hopes of saving the bottle. The bottle comes with this gorgeous carton box that's also too pretty to throw out. In my honest opinion Bathina has a high cost, little product and a scent that can be improved upon. If you ask me it's more dry and flat than the silky and seductive description. Stay Beautiful! XOXO
