this is a smaller tub which was included in a gift basket, large tub size available
I would bet the bank that every girl in the world has more than a dozen bath and body butters in possession. Even if you don't buy them for yourself your more than likely get tons of these products around the holidays, as office gifts and so forth. The Body Shop, Bath And Body Works along with other brands seem to be the number one choice as gifts for women and ironically enough when surveyed women listed boy lotions and such the one gift they wish people would stop giving them. I guess because we all have individual tastes in the scents we choose for ourselves when it comes to body creams.
Men, take note...no more bath and body gifts! Thank you, we still love you.
As for myself, I can open a mini body shop in my basement with all the body lotion junk in my beauty baskets. As a matter of fact I think I shall open for business. Would I have to pay taxes? Hmmm...
You see my brothers seem to spoil me with The Body Shop and Bath & Body Work goodies, gift baskets and set's every Christmas and Birthday. I don't mind so much when they overdose me with my fave scents such as Coconut and Satsuma but when one brother in particular kept buying me Cranberry shizzz almost every time it was just too much! I started to loathe the scent but didn't have the heart to say QUIT IT please. I mean how many scents do they carry anyway besides that? And why cranberry? What about me said I love that glittery shimmery weird cranberry sent? Finally, I subtlety hinted how much I love the citrus range and they thankfully get me Satsuma, Lemon, Creamy Cocoa Butter and Coconut products. Occasionally they step out of the box and surprise me with a new scent such as the one I'm reviewing for you today, The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Butter. If you never tried these body butters then you must because they are so silky and smooth. And please feel free to walk into a store and choose your own scent.
PRODUCT INFO:
- Best if you want to: Keep your skin super-smooth and soft with a rich, intensive cream that provides zesty, fruit-scented moisturization.
- Best for: normal skin
- How it works:
- Pink grapefruit seed oil provides essential fatty acids to repair skin's moisture barrier, so it feels smooth and supple.
- Community Trade shea butter moisturizes and softens skin.
- Community Trade cocoa butter is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature and absorbs quickly.
Pro: buttery soft formula, skin softening, silky, no greasy residue, various scents, affordable, travel friendly, cruelty free, cocoa butter in formula is skin beneficialCon: sometimes there is a weird lingering (chemical scent ? ) on the dry down
Formula: As annoying as it is to receive scents you don't pick out yourself as gifts, the formula is actually really nice. It really feels like a whipped mouse butter on application and absorbs quickly in your skin leaving no residue behind. All of the body butters regardless of scent has cocoa butter in the formula which keeps your skin moisturized and soft.
Scent: Pink Grapefruit is a very strong scent. It has no sweetness to it but its rather tart in a pleasing way. I find this a little too strong for use on my body and love to apply it on my feet because they keep my feet soft and the fresh tart citrus-y scent is refreshing on my toes. It's nice to try scents in smaller tubs that way you can decide if you would like to splurge on the bigger size.
Packaging: The body buttes come packaged in plastic tubs- 1.7 travel and the larger 6.7 oz and in some scents the 8 ounce tub. They also sell smaller lip butters which I will review soon. The tub has an image of the fruit/flavor on the tub and is usually colored in the same shade.
Bottom line: A decent body butter that is affordable, comes in a plethora of scents and is a cruelty free product plus it actually keeps you skin soft while lightly scented. I give this product a 4.5 starfish rating and would recommend it. If you love tart fruit scents then this might be something you would enjoy. What's your favorite body scent? Are you tired of getting these as gifts during the holidays? Would you rather choose your own scent? I'm curious on what girls feel about this, do tell. Stay beautiful! XOXO

I'm not generally a Body Shop fan, but I have had this butter in the past, and it's nice. Not to mention I love grapefruit, both to eat and as a fragrance.

i love body butters! i never tried the pink grapefruit before but it sounds delish. xx
Thanks for finally saying it out loud! Every holiday when we have grab bags I always go purchase the more expensive items and when it comes turn for me to grab a gift I always get the same body lotion. <3
It's better when you can choose your own scent because you know which you personally like.
The pink grapefruit sounds fresh.
It looks like a creamy souffle from the photo. My opinion on bath products as gifts, maybe we should start a petition. -aida-
I love tart citrus perfumes and would probably love this body butter too.
This looks delicious but really less thick than my beloved Shea Body Butter, which is designed for dry skin. I usually go for thicker butters but all of The Body Shop body butters look lovely!
I love The Body Shop. I'll remember to try this scent out.
It's a great product :)
lol @ "cranberry shizz"! I needed that!
The product does look incredibly silky. I could use a good skin softner this time of year!
I love body butters, they make my skin feel so good!
Are you talking about the holiday cranberry scent they put out, the one with all the shimmer? I don't like that either because it's super spicy.
Yes, that's the one. It is too spicy.
Thanks for the love xoxo
